Launch Calendar
The dates below have been nominated for Canberra Rocketry Group launches - both scheduled and complete.
These dates are subject to change, so please check back from time to time to confirm, or drop us a line at canberrarocketry@ozemail.com.au

Fire Bans & Inclement Weather

All rocketry activities (except perhaps water rockets!) are prohibited during periods of total fire ban.  Where possible, details will be posted against the relevant dates below, however participants (and visitors) are encouraged to follow @CBRocketry on Twitter (subscribe to SMS alerts on your mobile) for up-to-the minute news.
Please keep an eye on sites such as the NSW Rural Fire Service if you are unsure.

In cases of inclement weather (high winds, rain) cancellations or postponement details will be posted below and tweeted.

Low and medium-power launches are scheduled for the first Sunday of each month at our Manton Road, Yass, NSW site.
High-power lauches are scheduled for the nominated dates and take place at our Ardlethan (Beckom) NSW site.

Special launch dates (competitions etc) may be announced from time to time - these will be published here and on the News pages.

As all of our launch sites are on private property, there will be no launches or related activity outside of these dates, unless specifically approved by the landowner/s.

March 5
Held

Paddocks still a bit crispy, but some good flights and even an 'eye in the sky'!
March 25-26

Held Two decent flying days and two days of decent flying. Congrat's to Warren O on his Level-1 HPR certification!

June 4
Held
When the fog eventually cleared (midday!) we had some amazing flights. Congratulations to the St Francis Xavier team who successfully flew Courage 2 twice with a Gear 360 camera!
July 2
Held
A bitterly-cold start, but blue, clear skies and very light winds. Perfect!
July 29-30

Held A brilliant few days of rocketry. The weather was kind and rockets taken = rockets brought back!  Check out a selection of pics and video from the launch.
August 6
Held
Following the AGM we had a few flights, however the blustery conditions put paid to the launch after a short while.  Thanks everyone for coming out!
September 3
Held
A day that started off fine, but had to be cut short due to the gusty NW winds that kicked in.  Congratulations to Emma on the maiden flight of her very nice scale Mercury-Redstone.

A great launch with our NSWRA colleagues - they even left us a rocket as a gift - albeit 20 m above the ground in a tree!
September 4
Held
A good turnout and some great flights.
September 17-18

Cancelled The very wet season continued, with paddocks way too boggy to allow access.  A few intrepid folks did't waste their time though - the fruits of their labour to be revealed soon!
October 2

The day started with light air and blue skies.  The wind came up a bit (as it does) but not enough to put a damper on a great day in the field. Pics and video to come.
